New Speakers Bureau Director, Debra Gauthier, author of Bright Lights, Dark Places, is a popular motivational speaker. She served as a distinguished officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for 21 years. Debra was the 1st female hired under the same standards as men, paving the way for other female officers. She was the 1st female sergeant on the Academy staff and pioneered the Metro Bike Patrol. Debra was promoted to Lieutenant and tested #1 for captain. She has a BA in Fine Arts from UNLV and a Masters in Public Administration. In 1997 she received the Women of Achievement Award in the Legal category. Debra is a 48 year Las Vegas resident.
