The
Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada® was established
May 8, 2002, by Founder, President and CEO, Mrs. June Beland.
June is a successful business owner herself for the past 36
years, publisher for the past 26 years and a book author for
the last 12 years. She provides the vision and expertise to
assist women-owned businesses and their business needs throughout
the state of Nevada. June, who semi-retired back in 1997 when
she suffered a heart attack had time to think about her life
in a totally different way. After a long year of rest and
a different perspective on life she turned her efforts into
helping the businesswomen of her community.
The
Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada® formed as
a State Chamber and the name is as powerful as it sounds.
WCCNV deals with issues concerning women from Las Vegas to
the State Capital and all the way to the White House. WCCNV
is not a part of any other chamber; WCCNV is the State Chamber
of Commerce for Women of Nevada.
On
May 10, 2003, WCCNV made history by celebrating its first
year anniversary. This was a very important night for the
women of Nevada, and its Charter Members and above who received
their Historical Membership Plaque (a once in a lifetime presentation).
These women are very proud to be a part of this historical
business league and want to leave a Legacy for other women
and have the political power to make a difference. WCCNV is
embarking on a large community project for WCCNV, and will
be disclosed at a later date. So, join WCCNV and be part of
the Legacy for women of Nevada.
