Awards
Dr.
Mary Ann K. Allison Takes Top Honors |
On November 12,
2010, Las Vegas, NV. The Women’s Chamber of
Commerce of Nevada produced their 7th
Annual Athena Awards held on Friday, November
12, 2010, at Mandarin Oriental at CityCenter.
Master of Ceremonies for the fourth year was
John Huck, News Anchor with FOX5 News and
special guest Mrs. Nevada, and Dr. Susie
Monahan. Special speakers were past Athena
Award Recipients: Punam Mathur, NV Energy
(2004), Debra Nelson, MGM Resorts International
(2009), Jammie Hsu (2007), and Marissa Hawkins
(2009). This year the ATHENA International
Awards opened with sixteen year old professional
singer Malia Civetz and background music by Gail
Sande of Audio Energy DJ.
2010 ATHENA Awards, top
Leadership Honors went to
Dr. Mary Ann K. Allison, Medical
Oncologist of Comprehensive Cancer Center of
Nevada and top Young Professional leadership
honors went to Jennifer Simich, Director
of Government Affairs & Community Outreach for
Republic Services. Each woman received a
Congressional Recognition from U.S.
Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, Nevada’s First
Congressional District.
The First Business and
Organizational Awards
went to, Business: Global Flowers 2 U,
Judy Griffin, President, and Organizational:
Acelero Learning (Clark County Head Start),
Executive Director, Laura A. Harrison
